BNP Activist murdered in Stoke - Update


A man has appeared in court to face charges of stabbing his neighbour to death during a dispute.

Defendant Habib Khan, of Uttoxeter Road, Normacot, was denied bail at the brief hearing before North Staffordshire magistrates sitting at Fenton.

Khan is charged with the murder of 52-year-old Keith Brown, also of Uttoxeter Road.

Mr Brown died from a single stab wound just yards from his home following an incident on Friday night.
He was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire but was later pronounced dead.

District Judge Graham Richards $Khan to appear at Stafford Crown Court on Monday July 16.

Following the incident on Friday another man, aged 19, was taken to hospital, but was later discharged following treatment for minor injuries.

Six people were arrested in connection with the murder inquiry, and three men aged 19, 24 and 26 have been released on police bail.

A 32-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl who were previously arrested have now been released.

Uttoxeter Road has been re-opened to traffic, but police will remain at two addresses in the street which are still cordoned off.

The fatal stabbing is said to have followed a dispute over access to shared land.
