It is nice to report good news for a change and especially good news that concerns the treatment of our servicemen wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The plans put forward by the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association have been approved and they can now invest £1.7 million in a house for relatives to stay at whilst visiting their wounded men and women being treated at the Headley Court rehabilitation centre in Surrey.
In a campaign that was supported and promoted by hundreds of nationalists and supporting blog sites including this one, a petition of over 43,712 names was raised within a few short weeks.
Maj Gen Andrew Cumming, SSAFA chief executive, said he was "delighted" by the decision.
"This decision enables us to now move forward in our undertaking to provide urgently needed accommodation for the families of injured servicemen and women," he said.
"We would like to extend our thanks to the huge number of people who have publicly supported our application. We are enormously grateful to each and every one of them and, in particular, to Peter and Sue Norton who have been an inspiration to us in everything we are trying to achieve.
"Like them, SSAFA passionately believes that our servicemen and women deserve to be respected and valued and that their families should have our full support at all times."

Whilst everyone recognises the great work done by SSAFA, the British National Party believes that more should be done for our servicemen who have been wounded in fighting for Our Country, even if that war should be illegal. A BNP government would reopen the dedicated Military Hospitals and ensure that Our Boys get the best treatment possible.
