Have the good news first. We are all fed up with bad news.
Well the good news, is that convicted benefit fraudster, conservative Councillor Gul Nawaz will not be allowed to take up the position of Mayor of Peterborough.
The bad news, is that Nawaz will continue as Deputy Mayor. A position of honour he was appointed to despite the wishes of the local people organising a petition against his appointment and a plea to Gordon Brown to intervene when it was discovered that Nawaz was a convicted criminal who had been in prison for his crime.
Brown refused to intervene and the ruling conservatives group, ignoring the wishes of the people went ahead anyhow.
The whole lot of them are rotten. Hopefully now, the voters of Peterborough will remember this incident come the next local authority elections and vote for the British National Party.
