As Lord Ahmed been sentenced yet?
So is there going to be justice for the dead man my ignoble Lord?Reading the previous article, I got to wondering about what was happening in the dishonourable Lord Ahmed trial, who is/was facing a maximum of two years in jail after he admitted sending and receiving a series of five text messages to a reporter whilst driving in the dark at more than 60mph and crashing into and killing a Mr Martyn Gombar.
So what is happening? He was given an interim driving ban untill sentencing on December 22nd. A date long gone. So as he been sentenced or as he threatened the courts with 10,000 Moslems? I think we should be told?
Either way it is going to be interesting. Especially after the Lord Chief Justice as stated that new, tougher penalties be imposed on:
Motorists who read or write text messages on a mobile phone could face jail sentences of up to seven years if they cause a death, under new guidelines from a sentencing watchdog today.So then, anyone want to start the betting?

According to a comment on Cranmer, this will now be on the 25/2/2009. Perhaps we can hope for a bit more than a slap on the wrist but I am not confidant.
