Billy Bragg and the BNP

Billy enjoys living in a multi-cultural environment

I was reading the other day about how the darling of the left, Billy Bragg is going to help smash the BNP and stop them gaining seats in the London Assembly Elections.

I should imagine he will have as much success as when he campaigned there, prior to the last lot of elections in Barking, where Richard Barnbrook and his team grabbed a dozen council seats. Billy's word counts for a lot in Barking (he continued typing after picking himself up off the floor laughing) and so should not be ignored.

Anyhow, reading on how Billy intends to cut re-offending rates in convicted criminals by providing musical instruments with money donated by trade unions such as the FBU, it then prompted me to do a bit of digging into just who Billy Bragg is.

Billy's friend Pete Doherty - a government sponsored role model

Billy, like many of the entertainment "success" stories of modern times has made it big, not so much on his ability as a musician but because like his drugged up friend, Pete Doherty of Babyshambles, he says all the right things the Marxist establishment like to hear and so is lionised above his ability.

Just as Lee Jasper is a "professional black", Billy is a "professional marxist" and just as Bob Geldorf uses Live Aid to keep an otherwise mediocre career alive and profitable, so do does Billy play the working class champion, to keep his career going and to pay for the huge lump of West Dorset that he now owns.

Billy, as expected, is a very close friend and drinking companion of secret serial father, Ken Livingstone (what sort of man does not acknowledge his children) and lived in Barking for awhile. Alway portraying himself as a working class hero and promoting any group or organisation that attacked the British National Party.

Seems a bit middle class to me Billy having your kitchen done for Homes & Gardens

However Billys, working class hero image was ruined when he drove his Mitsubishi Shogun around Burton Bradstock. It turns out that around about that time Billy owned two large SUV's and often wound up the locals.
Bragg's Shogun is often parked outside the newsagents blocking all and sundry. "Rich Luvvie" I thought, but then I heard him sanctimoniously droning on about the environment on telly and thought I'd check out his website - sure enough a load (..a load..) of guff about "campaigns" including a load about 4x4's and what should be done to the owners - what a hypocrite!
I'm no fan of 4x4's particularly with respect to what they do to pedestrians unfortunate enough to end up in the path of one - come on Billy - trade it in (or even better scrap it - you've got enough money) for something safer/less polluting.
Billy likes to drive environmental friendly vehicles.

Later by all accounts, Billy traded in one of his Shoguns for another SUV, a Nissan Pajero. I have been informed that Pajero is Spanish for "Wanker" so I guess that a Nissan would be more appropriate for such a large Pajero as Billy.

Being a bit of a tight wad (Ken had warned him about his plans for congestion charges) and fed up with the enrichment of Barking, Billy had by now, joined the White Flighters and fled to Burton Bradstock on the coast in West Dorset.

Where he parked up his tanks in front of his new home and settled down to write a book about what it means to be English, whilst taking turns in opening Fetes with his new neighbours. Madonna, Martin Clunes and Jonathon Ross amoungst other working class heroes owning the rest of West Dorset.

Now Billy's book, The Progressive Patriot which were Billy's thoughts on how the left could take patriotism away from the British National Party and use it as a shield to cover the treason of the left as they betrayed our country was a spectacular flop even by the labour loving Guardian reviewer. The book originally priced at £17.99 can now be bought there for £2.60 as disappointed readers try to reclaim some of their money.

Now Bragg has always liked to play up his "Englishness" and believes that a pig born in a stable is a horse and that anyone can be "English". But you can understand why he might wish to see himself as English when you discover that Billy's grandfather was an illiterate Italian Ice Cream salesman. Now given a choice of being the descendant of a Stop me and buy One merchant or a True Son of England than I know which I would prefer.

So with his writing career in free fall Billy has needed to top up his Red Wedge of money and has come out shooting his mouth of about the BNP at packed venues such as this recent one in Camden where he sang such lyrics as
"Take down the Union Jack… Britain isn’t cool you know and it’s really not that great… It’s not a proper country… past its sell-by date… Member of the British Empire… doesn’t sound too good to me."
Those do not sound like the words of an Englishman to me. More the words of a one hit wonder singer playing the same old song long after everyone has realised the how rubbish they are.

But Billy will survive and continue to play the part of a working class hero and now united with his old friend, Red Ken, Chairman of the UAF we can see why he is still popular with those who seek to destroy democracy.
The British National Party would probably make it [into a parliament elected by proportional representation ], too. It would shine a torch into the dirty little corner where the BNP defecate on our democracy, and that would be much more powerful than duffing them up in the street — which I'm also in favour of.
Once a Red always a Red. Red Terror. Black Terror. Nazi. Communist. Interchangeable.

But Billy is not that keen these days to talk about Marxism and the numerous trips he made to Moscow before Communism there collapsed (after the deaths of 65 million people).

Check out his answer to a question put to him back last year in an interview.

Question: "Why are you living in a big house in Devon and not in the middle of the multi-cultural utopia that you so love?"

Answer BB: "It's Dorset actually. This is a question that I get asked all the time, an evolution from that old chestnut from the 20th century - 'If you like socialism so much, why don't you go and live in Russia'. I take it as a sign that the contributor has nothing to say on the topic in question - in this case Englishness and St George's Day. Stooping to personal attacks does nothing but undermine your credibility."

That's the hammer, Billy. Attack the questioner and avoid answering the question.

Well he did not go to live in Russia. More is the pity. To red for Billy Boy. And these days Barking is just too Brown.

Here's a description of the England our Billy wants (written by Prof. Stott):

Gets more interesting as you read.

It is always the same with these mockney accented fakes like Billy Bragg, They live as far away from "enrichment" as they can get, without involving space travel, but demand that us peasants have to embrace the multi racial hell holes which our betters have imposed upon us.

Absolutely magnificent. Well done, GA.

Thanks for exposing this insidious, sanctimonious Marxist reprobate. He is a degenerate of the highest order (second only to Pete Doherty).

Bragg said, "Stooping to personal attacks does nothing but undermine your credibility."

Then why, pray tell, do you "stoop" to "personal attacks" on the BNP and therefore "undermine your credibility"?

The Reds are beyond contempt. They are Communistic NAZIS: puppets of the Common Purpose; lackeys of Capitalist systems; thuggish protectorates of the status quo; nursemaids of international Zionism.

A pitiful bunch indeed...a bunch that is now on the losing side.

How does it feel?

Bragg the working class hero? I hope the BNP print a picture of his Dorset mansion and post it throughout London, just to illustrate to all those living in ethnic no go areas in the gun crime capital what a hypocrite this man really is. Oh and I hope the CSA chase old Kendo as they would chase any other working white absent father who disowns his kids, although something tells me they wont....Red scum.

anon. I have removed the Pete Doherty link and replace with image. Was that the link you were referring to or have I missed something else.

Well done green good post, and truthful. Bragg is a disgusting man, he is the kind of lowlife that would cower back in the UK as our forces go off and defend our isle. Where as we grew up thinking of what can I do for my country, and we headed off down the careers office at the fist chance we had, Bragg grew up hating Britain, maybe because he has not got the same ties to the nation as us it makes it easier for him to want to see it destroyed.
If his father is Italian he will more than likely a proud nationalist, most Italians are, so like Doherty who's father was a brill officer in the Army and proud to serve our nation both Bragg and Doherty must be a major disappointment to there families.
I remember seeing a picture of Doherty and his dad in a QPR programme from the late 80s early 90s. He went from a nice lad well brought up with terrific parents into the anti Christ of all his father stood for.
And as for Bragg advocating violence against the BNP, that shows the left up for what they are violent thugs, but not brave enough to join our forces, eh. They prefer to kick over stalls manned by defenceless ladies. I thought that the left were just so wrapped up in cotton wool that they did not really know what was going on in the real world, hence their ability to refute even the most accurate evidence as to how bad and misguided their woeful agenda is.
I wonder if Bragg read the article yesterday about Edmonton (spelling) in north London where rival gangs spend the time we would have riding our bikes playing football and fishing as kids slashing and killing each other.

Is this the multi cultural utopia that he wants for Britain? I for one do not want any of these murderous ethnic gangs anywhere near my city and children. My people deserve better.

Robert Mugabe will not go quietly.
Tyrants never do.

But it no longer seems absurdly optimistic to suppose that the long domination of Zimbabwe by this evil man may gradually be drawing to a close.

Now, of course, everyone agrees he is a monster.

How could it be otherwise?

David Milliband, the Foreign Secretary, was yesterday full of righteous anger in the Commons against this dictator who has ruined his country and tried to fix the elections (again).

Who could have guessed that until recently this appalling person was succoured by successive British Governments?

In 1994 he received an honorary knighthood from the Queen on the recommendation of the then Tory government.

Scroll down for more...

Beast: Robert Mugabe has left Zimbabwe, once Africa's breadbasket, starving and ruined

Dear Robert. What a faithful friend to Britain he has been.

The Foreign Office is particularly expert at doling out baubles to despots.

Nicolae Ceausescu, the communist ruler of Romania for many years, was guilty of numerous crimes against humanity.

The Queen was required to invite him to stay at Buckingham Palace, and to bestow an honorary knighthood on him, though he was subsequently stripped of the honour.

Oh, but the FO's mandarins will say, Robert Mugabe used to be a good chap.

This is not true. He has always been a bad chap.

In 1982, two years after winning power, he sent the notorious North Korean-trained Fifth brigade into southern Zimbabwe, where they killed untold thousands of Matabele.

But the victims weren't white, you see, so we could go on being friends with Robert.

And how we did!

In 1984, the Tory government sold him lots of Hawk fighter aeroplanes, which were later used in an illegal war in the Congo.

As recently as the year 2000, Tony Blair personally decided that Britain should supply spare parts for these aircraft.

This was after Mr Mugabe had already embarked on the illegal seizure of white-owned farms, which he has handed out to his cronies who do not have much interest in, or knowledge of, farming. The upshot has been near starvation.

Then there were the 1,500 Land Rover Defenders sold at half price to the Zimbabwean government during the mid-1990s for use by the police.

What a very useful addition these have proved to be, as the police have attacked squatters or suppressed demonstrations or shut down independent newspapers or indulged in a spot of torture. I am not aware that HMG has ever conceded that selling these vehicles to Robert at a knock-down price may have been even a slight mistake.

Let's not pin all the blame on the Foreign Office, though.

Mr Mugabe had his fans on the Left of British politics even when his gallant "freedom fighters" were raping nuns and killing civilians in the "liberation war" of the 1970s.

Shameful: Tony Benn, an icon of the Left, gleefully endorsed Mugabe despite his soldiers' record of rape and torture
Because he was opposed by Ian Smith and the white settlers, regarded on the Left as the epitome of evil, the occasional lapses of his spirited boys in the bush were generally overlooked.
When he was returned by a huge majority in 1980 in British-sponsored elections, many in the liberal media were delighted.

The then abrasively Left-wing Tony Benn (today rebranded as the nation's cuddly grandad) wrote rapturously in his diaries that he "could not remember anything giving me so much pleasure for a long time".

Not even the massacres in Matabeleland really shook the confidence of his admirers on the Left.

The BBC, which had covered Ian Smith's much less shocking excesses in assiduous detail, largely ignored Mr Mugabe's genocide against his own people.

Even now it is seldom referred to, no doubt because it explodes the myth that Mr Mugabe used to be a good guy.

Even someone as normally thoroughly sensible as John Humprhys (a former BBC correspondent in Zimbabwe) was able to say in an aside on Radio Four's Today Programme earlier this week that when he assumed power Mr Mugabe was not a bad man.

He was.

If he has got worse in recent years as he grew reckless, the proof of his badness was always there.

This blindness to his obvious faults had its roots in colonial guilt, and the Left's hatred of the white settlers in what was then called Rhodesia.

Because Mugabe was their enemy, he must be a decent chap.

So the thinking went - if it can be characterised as thinking - and continued even when he soon started killing his own people.

If Mr Mugabe should be forced to stand down in the next few days or weeks, I shall rejoice.

Certainly, I would not be starry-eyed about Morgan Tsvangirai, the man who has beaten him squarely in the presidential and parliamentary elections, but there must be cause for hope that, with financial assistance from the West, he will be able to lead Zimbabwe back towards something like its former prosperity.

But in these (I pray) dying days of the monster Mugabe, when he stands in the way of the hopes of most Zimbabweans, we should not forget the support he has received over the years not just from British governments but also from many on the Left.

Nor should we be taken in by the lie that he was once an heroic and praiseworthy figure who just happens to have been corrupted by too much power.

And I also hope that, whatever settlement may be possibly hammered out between him and Mr Tsvangirai, Mr Mugabe will not be allowed to retire, as though there were nothing amiss, to the grotesque 25-bedroom mansion he has built for himself in a Harare suburb at the expense of his impoverished people.

Slobodan Milosevic, the former Serbian dictator, was required to stand trial in the Hague, charged with crimes against humanity.

Saddam Hussein was subjected to a more brutal process in an Iraqi court, and hanged.

Though he is 84, and possibly not very long for this world, Robert Mugabe should not be spared exhaustive investigation.

The charges he must face include: genocide against the Matabele people in the early 1980s; the systematic use of torture in countless instances; the illegal seizure of property; the suppression of a free Press; corruption and the misuse of State funds; and fixing at least two elections.

That should keep investigators occupied, whether at the war crimes tribunal in the Hague or elsewhere, for a considerable time.

You can bet that no restitution will be offered to the families of civilians in the Congo who have been killed by Britishmade aircraft, or to Zimbabweans mistreated by police using British-donated Land Rovers, but the British Government can at least deprive him of his honorary knighthood, which should never have been bestowed in the first place.

What a shaming episode this has been.

Throughout his 27-year rule, Robert Mugabe has been cosseted and petted by successive governments. All this indulgence did not prevent him from ruining his country. It helped him to achieve his ends.

He still clings to power, but the British Government and the Left may soon have the opportunity to atone for appalling past misjudgments of this evil man by ensuring that he pays for the terrible crimes he has committed

In south Wales, Kevin Edwards has been elected to the Llandybie Community Council, Penygroes; and in North Yorkshire, Sam Clayton has been elected for the parish of Bickerton in Ainsty. Well done to all involved!

Simultaneously, BNP deputy leader Simon Derby reports that SKY TV has requested a BNP presence in a programme concerning the concept of Englishness to be broadcast later this month.

The BBC have also been in contact with Simon to say that, due to significant amounts of support for the BNP they have found in a private poll, their broadcasting policy might have to change.
