A gay friend who was once the most left leaning person I knew surprised me recently when she told me she would be voting BNP as they were the only party in Britain who would protect her should Sharia become the law. My irony wasnt wasted either, though in all fairness she decribed her leftist days as being almost unreal, as if she had been under the influence of some kind of conditioning, which she herself put down to her days at university.; 11 October 2008 at 16:56
