Yemen: Over half of married women under 15, says report

According to a recent study by Yemen's Women and Development Sturdy centre, over half the women who marry in Yemen are under 15 years of age, that is to say that the majority of girls entering marriage in that country are more than a year younger than the UK age of consent.

According to the study which was cited in the Yemen Times newspaper, the rate of child marriage among females in Yemen reached 52 percent, compared to less than seven percent among males.

On top of that, in rural parts of Yemen, girls usually get married at an average age of 12 to 13 years old. Apparently marriage between older adult men and much younger girls are not uncommon in many Middle Eastern and Asian communities.

This news will come as little surprise to the parents of young girls living in places like Blackburn and Bradford (apart from the "marriage" bit, of course).

Talking about youngsters GA. I went to the shop about 1 1/2 hours ago and saw a big bunch of teenagers around the sixteen mark, just hanging around at the end of the street. Boys and girls. Stopped and talked with them for a good hour. Without exception, they think exactly like we think. What about the BNP I asked them. What's that? They didn't even know about our existence (er, they do now, I was talking with them for about an hour or so). Teenagers are fertile recruiting ground - all we need to do is somehow get it through to them that we exist. They were really impressed with the idea that there is a political party out there that thinks British people (i.e. them) should come first. They quite simply didn't know we exist. The system keeps them ignorant in more ways than one. The system isn't stupid - the support from these kids was unanimous, and the system knows it, so tells them nothing and diverts their attention with junk.

I sold two "Asylum. Don't unpack you're going back" lapel badges after one of them noticed mine. I took it off and passed it around - and yes, even though I lost track of where it was, I got it back. Boys and girls, all thought the same as us. And they were really impressed with my knowledge of Mohammed's paedo inclinations - in detail. Er ... impressed might not be the right word ... they certainly didn't like it.

And they certainly DID like being talked to straight. That's the way to get them to listen. In their experience of life adults don't do that, and when they meet someone who does, they lap it up.

Anyway ... we really ought to be reaching out to youngsters this sort of age. See a bunch of teenagers hanging out - stop and speak with them. Tell them we exist, what to google to find us on the net.

Give it a try.

if they are ferile at 12, why not?
Perhaps Western society is out of synchronicity with the biological reality of human development.

Nevertheless I find the idea of them being forcibly married to older men despicable.

They should be free to choose, preferably guys their own age.

Sarah

I'm surprised at you I really am!

All these deeply devout muslim males are doing is to follow the magnificent example set by Allah's apostle, the Prophet Mohhamed, PBUH. Little Aisha was blessed with the love and affection of the Prophet PBUH when she was just 6 years old and blossomed into womanhood through him when she was 9 years old, may Allah shower her with eternal blessings and happiness for her devotion and love for Allah's apostle PBUH.

What are you, some kind of racist islamophobe?

/sarc off

Reconquista.

Are there no depths of depravity to which these Satanist scum will not sink? How much lower can the go than this:

'Acid attack on boy who 'refused sex with Muslim cleric'

"...It is the first such case to be brought against a Muslim cleric and threatens to expose a scandal of sex abuse within Pakistan's secretive Islamic schools.

Abid was blinded and maimed in the assault, which he says came shortly after he rejected sexual demands from the Islamic teacher at a madrassa in a crowded, lower middle-class district of Karachi. "He threatened to ruin me for life,"
Abid recalled, "but I didn't take him seriously. I just stopped going to the madrassa".

Abid, who was 14 at the time, told neither parents nor friends what had happened because, he said, he was ashamed. A few days later, as he played with his brothers and sister at home, he said that his religious teacher - accompanied by three associates - broke into the house, bolted the door and threw acid over him, screaming: "This should be a lesson for your life." From http://www.asiafinest.com/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t88694.html

And of course the get-out-of-jail-card is that they are only following the example of their 'prophet' - the paedophile Mohammed.

I've just been round the dark side of the blogosphere and I noticed you're getting more than average flak from the usual suspects. This shows you're over the target so please keep up the bombardment.

I also took a look at that poor Pakistani child's latest rantings and ravings. She provides a truly pathetic example of the congenital brain damage caused by successive generations of cousin marriage.

Is there nothing that can be done for her? I'd offer to donate a few of my brain-cells if I thought it would help, but unfortunately there may be incompatibilities because my gray-matter only functions with a blood-supply rich in alcohol and porcine proteins, derived from daily consumption of Tetley's Bitter and bacon butties.

A google search for "three years and one day" in quotes will generate large quantities of information about another religion that promotes sex with very young children.
